A Public Services Card can be used as documentation for the following services:

Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection

    • Social Welfare Services

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

    • First time adult passport applicants in the state
    • Replacement of lost, stolen or damaged passports issued prior to January 2005, where the person is resident in the State
    • Citizenship applications

Road Safety Authority

    • Driver Theory Test
    • Driving Test
    • Driver Licence Appointment

Voting

    • The Public Services Card can be used as valid form of personal identification when voting

The Public Services Card can be used for identity verification in any face-to-face interaction with a Specified Body as outlined in the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005.

 

A MyGovID account offers you online access to the following services:

Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection

Road Safety Authority

Dublin Local Authorities

    • Voter Portal for citizens to register to vote
      • Currently piloted for the Dublin region only

The Office of the Revenue Commissioners

Student Universal Support Ireland

Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine

Department of Children and Youth Affairs

In the future, it is intended that the Public Services Card will provide access to the following services:

Department of Justice and Equality

    • Proof of Age
      • When introduced, this will allow individuals to optionally use their PSC to prove their age

 

In the future, it is intended that MyGovID will provide access to the following services:

Department of Public Expenditure and Reform

    • Digital Postbox
      • This service will provide an optional means for citizens to receive correspondence from the Government digitally

Department of Education and Skills

    • School Grant Appeal
    • School Transport Appeal

Health Service Executive

    • Online Health Portal
      • This portal is yet to be launched and will be gradually rolled out, providing citizens with access to their health information

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

    • Online Passport Renewal
